Arcana 6 is choice — standing between two options that both have a real claim, and having to decide on the basis of what you value. It is usually read as romance, and that is the smallest part of it.

What arcana 6 means
Its material is attraction, union and discernment. Arcana 6 is drawn toward things — people, ideas, possibilities — and that pull is genuine information: it tells you what you value before you have worked out why.
But a pull is not a decision, and arcana 6 is the arcana of the gap between the two.
It is also fundamentally relational. Where arcana 5 belongs to a tradition, arcana 6 belongs to a person — oriented toward the particular other rather than the group. That makes it warm, and selective in a way that is not always comfortable for the people not selected.
Two things it is not. Not indecision — the difficulty is not an inability to choose but a real perception that both options are true. And not romance in the greetings-card sense; the choice it describes is as often about work, loyalty or belief.
